Remembrance Day, Big Buddies, and Explain Everything

All I have to say, is that I am so glad our grade 6 reading buddies know their technology. We have gotten together for reading buddies every Friday and it has been great to throw in some iPad time with them.  The grade 6s have the CWT iPads and are using some of the same programs we are. So the afternoon of the Remembrance Day assembly, we decided it was a great way to explore Explain Everything.

The task was to create an image that represents what Remembrance Day means to them.  The big buddies were the tutors and guides, but my 2/3s were the creators. It was a great way to explore Explain Everything with a bit of a purpose. It was 45 minutes of extreme focus and some students were pretty excited to send their final work to the Apple TV and show the whole class what they had accomplished.
